"It is my absolute intention to bring Hope, Love, and Peace in abundance to the world through my Art."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Painting mystical subject matter to me is an opportunity to contribute to the heightening awareness, and evolving collective consciousness of us on Earth, and the Universe as a whole. There are endlless possibilities to visions in Art, just as the Universe is infinite in its unfolding of creation.  The energy of the universe is constantly purging, integrating, merging, separating, and renewing the forces and elements in it, and this is a wondrous, intrigueing, and mysterious activity to behold.  The godforms and symbols I've used in my paintings to date are from esoteric traditions, including Qabalah, alchemy, mystical Christianity, etc., yet the compositions are unique as personal expressions of what I want to bring out to the viewer ~ qualities of Love, Hope, and Peace, while keeping a closeness the their classic references and correspondences from days of old.
"Protection of Michael"  2009 Acrylic on Canvas Board, 16" x 20"
This painting was commissioned to me by friends - a couple who have a son, named Aaron, in the Marines. This was the vision they both saw at the same time that Aaron was under ambush in Iraq. They saw the Archangel surrounding him with his wings and protecting him from harm.  I interpreted their description to me and translated it into this composition.  Notice that Michael doesn't have a shadow.  It was my intention also as a lover of peace to convey a sense of Hope for an overcoming of national differences and wars.
"Thoth in the Path of Tav" 2009 Acrylic on canvas 14" x 18"
In a meditation, I saw this vision of Thoth, the Egyptian godform, who is the expounder of magical adeptness and power, wisdom, order and equilibrium, and the giver of mathematics, writing and language.  I saw him in the setting likened to the Universe Card of the Tarot, with the Shemhamphoresh ~ the 72 angels, or names of G-d, encircling him, providing unto him protection and light of council.  And the four Kerubim holding high watchfulness in the four quarters, confirming unto Thoth perfect balance and harmony of the four elements of which they are lords ~~ the man (air), the eagle (water), the lion (fire), and the ox (earth).  By his Will, Thoth banishes the negativity of the Qlippoth, and the shells of the dead.  His place, his complete aura is clear and illuminated, as his loyal companion, Saturn is in union with him - her being the correspondence to the dancing supernal Great Mother imaged in the Universe Card of the tarot.  He stands in perfection with The One, as the mediator between the physical and spiritual worlds, Malchut at his feet, and Yesod above, indicative of the same Christ energy of Jesus and Buddha.
This painting is an expression of self-actualization, steadfastness, ‘walking the walk’, perseverance in raising consciousness, and increasing Light from out of the darkness.  It is to affirm that mystical, magical ability exist in us all to banish from ourselves our personal demons, fears, negative conditioning, and limiting beliefs that hold us back from achieving our greater good.  Whatever way or path we as individuals choose to achieve a life of personal freedom is diverse, and that’s ok.  All can and should be respected.  Collectively we are all in this together; we are all connected on this planet called Earth and in the Universe as a whole.  Forever may the confidence and trust in ourselves, and the resilience of our human spirit shine forth in the world
Hermes
"Hermes Trismegistes"  2009 watercolor on paper 9" x 12"
Hermes Trismegistes, the Greek equivalent to Thoth, a sage/god who was credited with the Emerald Tablet, an ancient writing which in brief, esoteric prose teaches the proscess of Alchemy, namely spiritual, from which comes the well known, but only now increasingly understood quote, "as above, so below".
I did this a study, yet also an actual piece in preparation for the painting below
"The Awakening" 2009 Acrylic on canvas 18" x 24"
 I entered into this painting with the desire to express the joy and Divine affection of the resurrection of Osiris by his loyal wife, Isis.  The story of these two Egyptian godforms is a bitter-sweet one, but more than that…Life, Death, and Resurrection is a theme which touches heart, and captures my spirit, with the Love and Hope, as do the accounts of Jesus, and many more. The mystical connection from this scene of his awakening is profound.  What lies beneath the veil of so-called ‘reality’ is the energy of Imagination and Will, that when directed and released into the Universe, can only come back to us for the good, or the bad, depending on how it had it’s beginning in our mind. Also, it is my intention in this painting to ‘awaken’ the mystic self in viewers to the male and female aspects of their beings, which when brought into balance and harmony, brings about the most amazing Light-filled miracles in their lives.
